Mission Statement

The Mission of S.O.S. is to save as many dogs as possible from certain death at local animal control facilities and find them permanent homes, and to educate the public on the importance of spaying and neutering all pets.

Description

S.O.S. is an all volunteer non-profit animal rescue located in Claxton, GA. We are licensed by the GA Department of Agriculture to house a small number of dogs that we rescue from local Animal Control Shelters (kill shelters). We then give these dogs the medical attention they need and find them loving forever homes.

We are located in a very rural area and our county does NOT have an Animal Control Facility, thus any dogs that are picked up face certain euthanization immediately. Evans County Animal Control does not even respond to calls regarding dogs in the city limits, leaving the citizens to "deal" with them as they deem appropriate.
