Mission Statement

Description

Heideman Elementary is a Title 1 (low income) school in the Tustin Unified School District. The majority of our students are English Language Learners.

We are registering with Volunteer Match because we run several after school programs for the benfit of the students and our community, and we are in desperate need for volunteers to help make them happen.

Our primary need at the moment is for volunteers to help us provide a fun, safe environment for the kids to play in after school each Friday. We call it Game Night and there are over 200 kids registered to play. The Tustin Police Officers Association provide some help, along with Tustin Parks and Rec. Department, but we need at least five more volunteers each week. And in January we are hoping to add another Game Night on Monday that will require up to ten volunteers.

This is an incredibly rewarding opportunity and is changing the culture of our school as well as the lives of our kids. We hope you will join in.
