Available Volunteer Opportunities: Cashier & Cashier Assistant Operate the cash register and assist with transactions. Greet customers and ensure a positive shopping experience. Customer Service & Sales Floor Help Provide friendly assistance to customers on the sales floor. Organize and maintain displays, ensuring the store looks inviting and clean. Donation Sorting: Kitchenware & Home Décor Sort incoming donations of kitchen items, home décor, and seasonal goods. Ensure quality control and prepare items for the sales floor. Clothing, Accessories & Shoes Sort, organize, and price donated clothing, shoes, and accessories. Bring fresh inventory to the sales floor and maintain displays. Books & Store Library Sort and organize donated books. Stock shelves in our store’s cozy library section. Sporting Goods, Camping Gear & Tools Inspect and organize donations like sports equipment, tools, and camping gear. Prepare items for display and sale. Crafts, Linens & More Sort and display donations like crafting supplies, linens, and unique finds. Help us create eye-catching displays for these items. Why Volunteer With Us? Cashier

Flexible Schedule | Cumming, GA 30040

We are in need of volunteers to serve as a cashier for a 4 hour shift. There are two shifts per day 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The volunteer can pick and choose what day/time they are available and we are very flexible with schedules and commitments. The volunteers would need to be comfortable working with the public and have basic computer skills (training provided). Volunteers also receive discounts on items (non-furniture) that they wish to purchase. We have monthly social gathers and volunteer appreciation luncheons to show how valued our volunteers are. MISSION Cumming Home Ministries, Inc. (CHM) supports and sponsors those experiencing hopelessness, through residential and rehabilitation, recovery, and treatment programs, Christian-based spiritual mentoring and counseling, life skills training, and resources infused with Godly hope needed for positive long-term life changes.

Description

CHM is a Christian based 501(c)(3) in Forsyth County, GA. In August 2020 the men's transitional housing was phased out. It was God's work that has guided CHM in a different direction. CHM now works with people facing homelessness, drug addiction, by assessing their needs and sponsoring them in a program that will best fit their current needs.
