Description

United Way of Central WV raises funds and allocates the funds to non profit health and human service agencies in Kanawha and Putnam Counties. United Way serves as fiscal agent for Emergency Food and Shelter funds for 17 West Virginia counties; sponsors four Corporation for National & Community Service Programs; AmeriCorps, AmeriCorps*VISTA, Foster Grandparent Program and the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program; and provides a variety of in-kind support services for non profits.

I have always wanted to become a volunteer, but was very busy with school and could never find the time; now that I am graduated I have a little more free time on my hands and would like to become more involved with the community. Helping people and making a change even if it is a small one has always been a desire of mine.
