CASA’s mission is 1) to help shelters and rescues with behavior assessments for dogs and cats to increase their adoptability to 'best matches’, as well as training staff and volunteers in safety and animal behavior 2) to provide training to pet owners so that they can overcome common behavior problems and keep the pet in the home as to limit the chance of the animal being surrendered to a shelter or rescue and 3) provide public education through lectures and demonstrations at schools and public events to educate about animal behavior, the benefits of spaying and neutering pets, and bite prevention. We are also advocates of TNR (trap, neuter, release).
The Coalition of Advocates for Animal Shelters, or CASA, is a group of volunteers dedicated to helping homeless animals find homes, helping animals in shelters, and helping pet owners. CASA is a 501c (3) non profit organization. We assist local shelters by pulling adoptable cats and dogs, have them fully vetted, and place them in foster homes while awaiting adoption.
