There are few civic services more important to a community than library services. I have been an avid library-goer since age six; I am a former teacher, grades 5-12, and have enjoyed bringing library services to my students. Whenever our family moved from one city to another, the first thing we did was register with the local library--even before we unpacked from our move. Libraries are not only public access to information through books and services, but a home-base for comfort and for intellectual stimulation. And fun. Reading with children, theatrically, is one of my favorite pasttimes. Please believe that our San Diego libraries, all of the branches, must be maintained, for our children, for their parents, for the community at large, for the betterment of our society.
