The mission of Refugee and Immigrant Self- Empowerment (RISE) is to advocate and promote self-sufficiency through employment, education, social support and economic independence for members of the refugee and immigrant communities in Onondaga County, NY.

Description

RISE is committed to assisting the diverse refugee and immigrant communities in Onondaga County. Helping nearly 400 families from 25 nations annually, our programs are targeted at promoting self-sufficiency through employment, education, and economic empowerment. Whether it is helping our clients polish their resumes and prepare for a big job interview with our employment services, working with youth to help solve that tricky math problem in our after school and summer school youth programs, or providing the tools for adult learners to improve their English or to pass the US citizenship exam, we have the volunteer opportunity for you!
