Mission Statement

To promote restoration and stewardship of Rouge River ecosystems through education, citizen involvement and other collaborative efforts, for the purpose of improving the quality of life of the people, plants and animals of the watershed.

Friends of the Rouge is an environmental non-profit organization that has been promoting stewardship of the Rouge River watershed for over 15 years. We run a large environmental education program for schools within the Rouge watershed. We also coordinate a variety of projects for volunteers, adult and youth, individuals and groups. These activities include monitoring environmental quality, neighborhood-based environmental education and pollution prevention, stream cleanups and many other environmental restoration/preservation activities.

Good introduction to volunteering. Well organized and fun, and get to meet people and see things you may never normally notice.
Engage your employees, consumers, or students! VolunteerMatch provides the tools that make community involvement easy.
