Description

Public libraries in California seek to engage the talents, skills and commitment of volunteers to serve the communities' information and literacy needs. Libraries offer a variety of skilled volunteer opportunities to make a meaningful contribution to library programs, operations, fundraising events and other community engagement functions. Skilled volunteers have opportunities to lead projects, work with teams of staff and volunteers, learn new skills, and have fun.

I am very funny about using my name behind any reference for anything. I love the "idea" of a library--just reserved now about volunteering because of experience. I used to recommend this institution to everyone...now--not so much... this library is being treated as a "tea shop" and not for what it was meant to be--a place of adventure. Books still talk to me--they call me as friends. If I could just work with kids, books, and people who really care about libraries--it would be a perfect place to volunteer.
