Thanks to VolunteerMatch.org for helping me find this great volunteer position ! I saw your listing for Public Service Support with the El Cerrito Library in February 2014. I applied, was interview within a week and started my volunteering days later. The work is interesting: book-shelving, searching for lost or overdue books, and assisting staff on current projects. Staff are very friendly, knowledgeable & helpful -- and this means patrons feel good about coming in. Within a few months, I asked if there were more volunteer opportunities. Staff let me know that I could also volunteer with the Friends of the El Cerrito Library and the EC Library Foundation. And I did. Each of these related volunteering activities uses a full range of my skills and means I am having fun while giving back to the community. Thank you for being a great site--and for listing this cool place to volunteer.
I thought there was an opportunity to volunteer and gain some experience. They told me to come by the library, fill out an application, and chat about opportunities. I filled the form and didn't get any talk or interview. There is no opportunity to be a volunteer for this library.
