The City of Jersey Village is committed to working with citizens to preserve a sense of community and enhance the quality of life by providing friendly, personalized services for the safety and well-being of our City, its natural resources, and environment in a fiscally responsible manner.
Description
The City, which was formed in 1956, is located 15 miles northwest of downtown Houston. As of September 30, 2013 the City had a land area of 3.58 square miles and an estimated population of approximately 7,650.
The City of Jersey Village has adopted a Council-Manager form of government. The Council is comprised of a Mayor and five Council members. The City Manager is appointed by the Council and is responsible for implementation of Council policy and all day-to-day operations of the City.
The City provides a full range of municipal services including public safety (police and fire protection); residential solid waste sanitation services; water and wastewater services; public improvements; repair and maintenance of infrastructure; recreational and community activities; and general administrative services. The City also owns and operates a public golf course.
