YouthPlaces INSPIRES and EMPOWERS youth to succeed in order to break the cycles of violence and poverty that holds us all back.

Description

Founded in 1997 Youthplaces grew out of the youth crime prevention council's efforts to reverse the rising tide of youth crime and violence. For nearly 20 years, YouthPlaces has engaged the youth from under resourced, high poverty communities, supporting and guiding them on a pathway to success. Operating a network of 14 program sites throughout Allegheny County and the City of Pittsburgh, Youthplaces employs more than 40 individuals, has an operating budget in excess of $3M, and implements a variety of initiatives including after school/out-of-school time and workforce development programs, that endeavor to close the achievement and wealth gaps experienced by youth residing in low-income neighborhoods.
