East Tennessee Spay & Neuter exists solely to end the use of killing as a method of population control for companion animals by providing innovative programs to help pet owners, especially low-income pet owners, keep their pets healthy and out of the shelter. Results: Over 3,700 pets spayed or neutered and vaccinated; nearly 600 pets receive two-weeks' worth of food every month. Target demographics: pets of low-income families Direct beneficiaries per year: nearly 600 pets get altered, and over 500 pets per month stay fed! Geographic areas served: Carter County, Tennessee Programs: low-cost spay-neuter transport, pet food pantry, education, collaboration with Appalachian Feral Cat Allies and Elizabethton-Carter County Animal Shelter. And coming soon, a mobile wellness care unit & spay/neuter clinic!
Description
Founded in 2009, we have been able to help with the spay and neuter services of over 2,600 pets so far! We also feed over 50 0 pets each month through our Pet Food Pantry. We are a non-profit organization that relies solely on grants and donations. We have several volunteers that commit to helping this organization serve the 'pets and their people' of our community.
