E.C.C.O has been around since 1969. We are based out of Tenth Street United Methodist Church. Located in the heart of the City of Erie we are prime location to serve the community.
We offer Food bags once a month to our neighbors in need. We have also begun to incorporate Next 2 new sales with the food bag give aways. We only ask for two dollars a bag, as much as they can squeeze into the bag.
We also have a gym program that meets twice a week for youth. We have also taken the need into the summer program by feeding the children 5 days a week in the summer.
A sewing class was started this year. We make layettes for the young mothers of the Erie
School District. The blankets were donated by another church. They can no longer do them so we set up this program to teach people how to sew and make our quilts for the moms.
A book club was started last year. We do not read just Christian books, but books that touch or lives and give us something to talk about. Once again a great program for mom's to get out of the house while their children are at school, without spending much money.
We are looking at new programs we could start, but we have found it very hard to get volunteers
We do what can we with what we have. The need is more then one organization can help.
