The Mission of the Volunteer program at San Francisco Maritime National Historic Park is to enhance the visitor experience by involving individuals and groups in the preservation and interpretation of cultural and natural resources. In an atmosphere of cooperation and respect, the program provides volunteers an opportunity to give of themselves while fostering a sense of commitment to National Park Service goals.

Stand on the stern of Balclutha, face west to feel the fresh wind blowing in from the Pacific Ocean. Located in the Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood, San Francisco Maritime National Historical Park offers the sights, sounds, smells and stories of Pacific Coast maritime history.
