Mission Statement

Our organization provides health care in the region around Guerrero, Chihuahua, Mexico, with volunteer doctors and support personnel. Our primary thrust is eye care with glasses and surgery, but depending upon what volunteers we have each time, we provide dentistry & general medicine in our twice a year clinics. In addition, once a year, we have a plastic surgery clinic primarily for clefts, but we do see other birth defects and scarring that we can treat.

Description

Our 7000 square foot facility has three operating rooms with very good equipment, ten exam rooms, three dental operatories, a pharmacy plus a commercial kitchen and three showers. Our pretesting equipment consists of acuity testers, intraocular pressure instruments, auto-refractors, keratometers and A-scans. Our optometrists have ophthalmoscopes, both direct and indirect and either phoroptors or lens sets to refract with, then we have an optical to dispense recycled eyeglasses and edgers to fabricate glasses on the spot.
