Mission Statement

Mission Statement: Canine Companions is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for seniors and disabled individuals through canine companionship. Our mission consists of three objectives; first and foremost to help alleviate loneliness among our focus group. The second, to remove the burden of training and third, to help with the financial expense associated with pet ownership. We actively seek out individuals whose life would benefit from a canine companion, assess their living situation, then search for a companion that best suits the environment and abilities of the recipient. Our program is also designed to increase the social interaction between seniors, disabled individuals, and high school students, college students and other individuals who would like to become more involved in their community.

Description

Canine Companions is a non-profit organization whose mission is to improve the quality of life for seniors and disabled individuals through canine companionship. We are not an animal rescue, we do not provide service dogs or therapy dogs. We provide trained (obedience, potty and crate / kennel trained) companion animals to individuals whose life would benefit from the companionship of a four legged friend.

Our organization is 100% donation and volunteer based and all donations go toward training, veterinary expenses, accessories and food.

Our current goal is to raise enough funds to move our facility to a location that will accommodate up to 20 animals simultaneously.
