Mission Statement

Mission Statement

Why

The NMAR organization was formed as it was realized there were many homeless animals in North Carolina that needed help.

Goals

Our initial focus is on companion animals such as those abandoned, abused, neglected, or stray. Getting all animals the proper vetting. Our volunteers will make all animals' stay in the shelter as comfortable as possible and help raise funds to support our work. The animals remain at the shelter until placed in a permanent, stable home. Education is one of our top priorities: Humane care of animals. The importance of spaying/neutering to control the animal over-population.

Description

North Mecklenburg Animal Rescue has been in operation for over eight years. During that time we have placed well over 2,000 companion canines into wonderful loving forever homes. We will be opening a new location in Old Fort, NC as soon as funds allow. We are launching a fundraising campaign right now on many significant levels. We are having a large scale fundraiser in Charlotte, NC on May 3rd. We are now and have always been a private non profit no kill facility. We do everything in our power and many times more than within budget for the animals in our care and give them the best possible chance at an incredible forever home.
