We are looking for volunteers with a burning desire to help abused and abondoned children with programs in the areas of ESL (English), computer skills, dance, art, music, singing, sewing and ceramics, story-telling, drama, sports, carpentry, cooking, puppet shows, etc. We have a place for you so ask us! Your talent and skills can be used. We also need help with tutoring the children after school in English and Math and helping them with their homework. The children's ages range from 2-17. We need help at our Hogar de Amor Children's Home in La Ceiba, Honduras. Some Spanish speaking is required and minimum age is 22 years old.

We are looking for volunteers who can make a commitment and volunteer for two months in December & January. The children are out of school during this time period for their "Summer vacation". The intern would bring in activities to the Hogar de Amor for the kids to do during the week, such as sports, crafts, music, art, self-defense and other activities, etc. Bible youth camps are also welcome. The children should be tutored in English and Math during these months to sharpen their skills. We have a computer lab to teach the older children Windows, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Some spanish speaking is needed. Minimum age is 22 years old.

Just about everyone at Helping Honduras Kids is a volunteer! We are seeking volunteers with a burning desire and some background to help make a positive difference in the lives of impoverished Honduran children. Helping Honduras Kids programs are in the vibrant La Ceiba area of the north coast of Honduras. The jungle rivers of the Pico Bonito National Forest and the sun and sand of the Caribbean are only 15 minutes away. La Ceiba has an airport, a bus station and more taxis than anyone can count! La Ceiba also has internet cafes, ATM machines and excellent medical care. We welcome volunteers from all countries who love children. We are particularly interested in long-term volunteers, but also accept those who can only contribute for a few weeks. Our volunteers pay their own traveling and living expenses. Typically we help find acommodations living with local families (homestays) or at our Volunteer house. Some ability to speak Spanish is helpful. Two programs are underway that need your help. HHK volunteer placements include: * HOGAR DE AMOR: Assist in the operation of our Children's Home (Hogar de Amor) for children at "social risk". The Hogar de Amor is in La Ceiba, Honduras. We need Math and English tutors for after school at the Hogar de Amor Children's Home. You would help at the Hogar and also have opportunities for creating art, music, environmental or technology projects, self-defense, sewing, sports, or teaching a trade, giving computer classes, teaching English and Math on top of what they learn in school, etc. The children are ages 2-17. If you have a special talent or like skill, we can use you! * JUNGLE SCHOOL: Support the operation of our Jungle School by assistant teaching in grades K-10; assisting in English and Math classes, creating art, music, environmental or technology projects, etc. The children are in grades K-10. The "Jungle School" is located in the Cangrejal River Watershed, just 10-15 minutes south of La Ceiba, Honduras.
