Mission Statement

Special Kids Network is an independent non-profit organization that was created to provide funding for programs that help children and young adults with special needs. Our mission is to create community awareness and raise funds in support of organizations who believe that every child and young adult - regardless of the nature of their background or disability - should be able to enjoy life to its fullest and to participate in the mainstream of their community.

Description

We are a major fundraising force in Chicago's philanthropic community, making substantial grants to organizations that offer special children opportunities to participate in mainstream society. On August 2, 2110 Special Kids Network will hold its 11th Annual Golf & Women's Tennis/Majong Tournament. The beneficiary of this event is Keshet Recreational Programs, and special recipients will be disclosed shortly. This annual event has featured many media and sports celebrities such as Joe Girardi (NY Yankees Manager), Jeremy Roenick, Mark Giangreco, Neil Funk, Emery Moorehead, Bill Wennington & Kathy Hart of the The Mix 101.9FM, which is why we have received great media coverage throughout the years! The outing is held at the exclusive Twin Orchard Country Club in Long Grove, Illinois. This private country club features two 18-hole courses, carved out of Long Grove's beautiful wooded landscape, was designed by local architect C.D. Wagstaff. In addition to the 18-hole course, Twin Orchards also provides four championship clay tennis courts. Thank you to our previous sponsors, celebrities, board members and volunteers for making this event happen each year. We are very grateful for each and every one of you to take the time to help in so many different ways. We are looking forward to another fabulous event in 2010! Let's make it the best yet!
