Mission Statement

The mission of the Memphis Youth Symphony program is to provide and augment a quality education in classical music to as many talented young musicians of the Mid-South as possible through the performance of symphonic and chamber music. This experience encourages the development of outstanding musicians, leading citizens, and patrons of the arts.

Description

The Youth Symphony program includes four performing orchestras and several small ensembles and gives a total of about 50 performances throughout Memphis each and every year. The four orchestras include 295 students who attend 72 different schools and are representative of all socio-economic backgrounds.
