Mission Statement

The Ottawa Scouting Museum was founded to promote and preserve the colorful and proud contributions of boy scouting, girl scouting and camp fire through exhibition of the past of these organization with memorabilia from its vast collection and a variety of programs offered for youth and adults relating to their history and local history.

Description

We are a museum, operated and administered by vounteers, open to the public thirty hours a week through the volunteer efforts. We offer programs for youth and adults, exhibit local history in addition to scouting history. Ottawa, IL was the home of the founder of the Boy Scouts of America, William Dickson Boyce, and his final resting place is here.
