Got the voice? Know the sport? Waycross Community Media is searching for announcers to give our high school football, basketball, bowling, volleyball, baseball, and softball productions a boost. We provide the venue, you provide the play-by-play and/or color. Your work will be seen on Spectrum, Cincinnati Bell Fioptics and online. This is an ongoing need. To see a calendar of what events are coming up, go to www.waycross.tv/volunteers. Volunteers who are under 18 must either have parental consent, or be volunteering at an event sponsored by their own school.

Volunteer to be part of a Video Production Crew in Forest Park, Greenhills, Springfield Township, or Colerain Township. Our programs connect the community to their local government, school district, and neighbors--and we use volunteers for almost every program. Programs air on community cable channels and online at www.waycross.tv. Volunteers get experience being part of live (and "live-to-tape") television broadcasts that allows them to hone their own camera and production skills. WHAT YOU WILL DO When you assist with shoots that use our four-camera production truck or our TV studio, volunteer positions include: *camera operator (Our biggest need for every production) *Sporting event announcer (such as football, basketball, volleyball, soccer, baseball, softball, bowling) *Direct a program *Run graphics *Run instant replay *Audio *Technical Director If you have questions, you are welcome to call us at 513-825-2429. You can also e-mail our Production Coordinator, Tony Suarez, at tony@waycross.org. TIME COMMITMENT: Shoots can range from two to four hours of time. Volunteers arrive early before the shoot begins (at the "crew call" time) to help with set-up and to learn what you need to know for that particular shoot. There is not a required number of shoots volunteers must participate in per month; you can do as many or as few as your schedule permits. (We do ask volunteers to commit to productions ahead of time so that we may plan for the equipment set-up.) At the end of the event, volunteers assist with "tear-down" as equipment is packed back into the production truck. BACKGROUND: No prior video production experience is required; when you sign up for your first shoot, let us know that you are new, and we'll make sure we give you some extra pointers on your first shoot. Our volunteers include students, retirees, and all ages in between.
