Mission Statement

Friends Rehabilitation Program (FRP), a Quaker values-based affordable housing nonprofit and Community Development Corporation, aims to transform neighborhoods through community-based economic development, sustainable affordable housing, and transitional opportunities for marginalized populations. Description

Friends Rehabilitation Program, Inc. (FRP) is a city-wide Community Development Coporation (CDC) specializing in housing and social services. Founded in 1965, FRP now serves over 750 individuals with affordable housing and social services. FRP develops and manages housing for the elderly, disabled, those living with HIV/AIDS, low-income families, those experiencing homelessness, and returning citizens. With new construction and renovation projects, FRP develops energy-efficient homes for both renters and first-time homebuyers.

FRP is committed to fostering community, environmental, and economic sustainability in the neighborhoods in which we work by hosting job-training programs, developing local partnerships, supporting local entrepreneurship, offering food access programs, and gardening initiatives. FRP is governed by Quaker values, and exists to mend and serve the world in the region of Greater Philadelphia in the manner of Friends. We do this work with the conviction that beauty is an intervention.
