Mission Statement

"The Iowa Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) program commissions trained and qualified community Advocates to serve as an effective voice in court for abused and neglected children, strengthening efforts to ensure that each child is living in a safe, permanent and nurturing home."

Description

The Iowa Court Appointed Special Advocate Program supports community volunteers to serve as an effective voice in court for abused and neglected children. We are looking for volunteers who care about children, but may not be in a position to foster or advocate for children involved in the Juvenile Court system. If you possess above-average computer skills, have 5 hours per week to donate, and are willing to learn how to assist our regional coordinators with inputting cases into our data system, we want you! Volunteers will be asked to download court documents from EDMS (Electronic Document Management System) and upload these documents to our data system for internal use. These efforts will allow our coordinators to be more directly focused on the recruitment, training, and retention of Court Appointed Special Advocates who serve Iowa’s children-in-need. Please consider volunteering your talents and skills to assist us in advocating for Iowa’s most vulnerable children.
