The primary mission of the Center is to provide our clients with "a safe place, a safe presence, and a safe path so that they may complete a healthy pregnancy, choose the next right step and follow through on their plan". CGE provides trauma-informed residential, outpatient and supportive housing services that assists each client in experiencing, choosing and maintaining, physical, psychological, social and spiritual health for themselves and their child.
The Center for Great Expectations (CGE) is a provider of residential treatment, outpatient services and supportive housing for at-risk clients with substance use and/or mental health disorders. Homeless, pregnant and parenting teens and women, and their children, and outpatient clients, come from all counties of New Jersey.
CGE is recognized as a premiere provider of trauma-informed care to NJ's homeless parenting women and teens with involvement in the child welfare system. From Residential Treatment through Supportive Housing and Outpatient Treatment, CGE provides a Continuum of Care that addresses the trauma and Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) that result in addiction, homelessness, and mental health disorders. Established in 1998, Great Expectations has grown from serving 6 clients and no children, to an impactful Continuum of Care that annually provides direct services to over 200 mothers, their children, and clients served through our Outpatient Program.
