During these uncertain times, how can we help?
See below to access our COVID-19 Resource Hub, and to explore our growing directory of COVID-19-specific and virtual volunteering opportunities.
Our primary purpose is to maintain, restore and preserve the property at 855 Ardmore Avenue which was the family home of physician Robert Holbrook Smith, affectionately known as Dr. Bob, one of the founding fathers of Alcoholic Anonymous. The historic site in Akron, Ohio is the birthplace of this internationally known fellowship, which subsequently became the foundation of murmurous other twelve step programs that are improving the lives of millions of people. Second, our ongoing mission to help alcoholics by preserving the atmosphere of acceptance where early members achieved and maintained their sobriety. Third, to educate the local community and beyond on how Dr.Bpb’s Home played a part in the formation of Alcoholics Anonymous.
Our board is made up of 12 Mananging Trustees: Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Archivist, Human Resources, IT, Building and Grounds, Gift Shop, Housekeeping, Volunteer, Newsletter. We employ a bookkeeper and a grant writer.
