The Greater Philadelphia Chapter’s mission is to discover treatments and a cure for ALS and to serve, advocate for, and empower people affected by ALS to live their lives to the fullest. On average, people with ALS live only two to five years from the time of diagnosis, while this cruel disease progressively eliminates their ability to move, eat, and ultimately breathe on their own. Almost 80 years since baseball great Lou Gehrig brought national attention to ALS, there is still no cure and there are no survivors.
