Bluebonnet Youth Ranch is committed to providing a safe, healthy, family-oriented environment for dependent, abused and neglected children. The organization allows children to live free from victimization, and offers every opportunity for them to build better futures for themselves. Bluebonnet strives to provide a life as normal as possible for the youth, and all the advantages for the children to grow and achieve their full potential in each aspect of life.

Description

According to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS), there were 213 Texas children that died last year because of abuse or neglect at the hands of their parents, relatives or guardians. The 2008 DFPS Data Book also reported 41,591 confirmed investigations of abuse and/or neglect and 70,589 confirmed victims of child abuse/neglect in the state of Texas last year. The Bluebonnet Youth Ranch is one of countless groups and organizations across the state working to address this critical concern, seeking to create a safer, happier and healthier life for Texas' children. Bluebonnet is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is licensed as a private child-care facility by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services. The Ranch serves as a long-term, residential home for dependent, abused and neglected children from infancy to age 18.
