Mission Statement

The Lamorinda DART (Disaster Animal Response Team) assists pets and their owners in Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda in case of a disaster.

Our primary objective is to set up a temporary animal shelter where your pet can be safe. This shelter will be near an emergency evacuation center so that you can be with your animal.

As members of Lamorinda CERT (Community Emergency Response Team) - we will do search and rescue for animals and assist you in transporting your pets to safety.

We train our fellow CERT members in safe animal handling techniques.
Finally we conduct pet emergency preparedness campaigns in Lamorinda to help pet owners prepare for disasters.

Description

Lamorinda DART (Disaster Animal Response Team) is an advanced level CERT (Community Emergency Respiosne Team) training. You must either be a graduate of a CERT program or an employee in veterinary medicine to be able to join us. We require additional training, including Pet First Aid, a number of FEMA certifications, and our own 17-hour training.
