Mission Statement
The purpose of the Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas is to support people with Down syndrome, their families, and caregivers in achieving the universally desired goals of self-fulfillment, pride in one's achievements, inclusion in the community and reaching one's full potential, through social and educational activities.
Description
The Down Syndrome Partnership of North Texas (DSPNT) provides a number of services and programs designed to benefit individuals and families touched by Down syndrome. Some of these are:
NEW PARENT KITS
DSPNT provides new parent packets free of charge to any family in its service area whose baby has received a diagnosis of Down syndrome, whether prenatally or at birth. This packet contains general information about Down syndrome and tips on accessing local, state and national resources.
EDUCATION
DSPNT regularly plans educational programs for parents, teachers and health care providers. Most of our activities are offered free of charge. Past activities include:

- Difficult Behavior
- ARD/IEP Tips
- Independent Living
- Teaching Reading to Students with Cognitive Disabilities
- Building Relationships between People with and without Disabilities
BUILDING SOCIAL NETWORKS
DSPNT realizes how important strong social networks are for individuals with Down syndrome and their families. It regularly hosts events like holiday parties, spring dances, age-appropriate play groups and pool parties to help foster social skills and supportive networks.
