Mission Statement
The 4 th Judicial District Probation Statement of Common Ground: Colorado Probation is committed to Public Safety, Victim and Community reparation through offender accountability, skill and competency, development and services to the communities of Colorado.
Description
The Fourth Judicial District Probation Department's Volunteer program is an integral part of the services it provides. By utilizing the variety of skills and energy of volunteers, we are able to enhance and expand the program available to probationers, victims and the community. We consider our volunteers to be a complement to our staff, as they bring their unique talents to bear on behalf of probationers and victims.
The Volunteer Program offers a means for all citizens to learn about the operation of a probation department specifically, and the criminal justice system as a whole. Volunteers have the opportunity to increase their helping skills while assisting others and serving the causes of justice and community safety.
Volunteers are partners with staff and comprise an important part of the team. The Probation Department believes that the Volunteer Program is an effective way to educate the community and involve it in solving problems, restoring victims and reintegrating offenders.
