Mission Statement

The CHILD ADVOCACY TEAM ("CAT") is a non-profit company organized pursuant to the provisions of the Michigan Nonprofit Corporations Act, Act 162, Public Acts of 1982. CAT provides legal and advocacy services to minor children involved in the legal justice system.

The CHILD ADVOCACY TEAM is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt public charity. The corporation is incorporated and organized exclusively for charitable purposes. The purposes for which the corporation is organized is to defend human and civil rights of minor children; to advocate for the elimination and the prevention of cruelty to children; to provide relief of the poor, distressed and underprivileged; and to promote social welfare by providing legal counsel and legal advocates to minor children.

Description

The CHILD ADVOCACY TEAM provides legal, educational and advocacy services to children who have been neglected, abused, abandoned or otherwise at-risk.

The CHILD ADVOCACY TEAM engages in collaberative efforts with community partners in Genesee County, Michigan sucn as the Zero to Three Initiative and Juvenile Mental Health Court.

The CHILD ADVOCACY TEAM provides ancillary services to at-risk youth such as distributing free books, school supplies, clothing, and other items to at-risk children and families.
