An independent, private, non-profit organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service since 1979 as a 501(c) (3) enity. Midland Couny Child Protection Council, Inc. remains the legal name for this agency. In 2006 the name of the agency transitioned to Safe & Sound Child Advocacy Center through documentation filed with the State of Michigan.
