Mission Statement

The Queens Volunteer Lawyers Project, Inc. is a not-for-profit legal assistance program dedicated to providing attorneys on a pro bono basis to residents of Queens County who cannot afford to retain a lawyer to resolve their civil legal problems.

Description

Volunteer lawyers represent tenants in Housing Court to avoid or delay eviction; in Family Court for various matters; in administrative hearings to obtain government benefits; provides pro-se advice at our consumer debt clinic: represents homeowners facing foreclosure for their mandatory court settlement conference; draft wills and ancillary documents; as well as miscellaneous other civil law matters.
