Mission Statement

The Unity Movement of Chicago’s primary mission is to improve the overall quality of life for the citizens who reside in the city. The movement plans to do this by uniting the cities vast resources from Civic Organizations and Faith Based Organizations and strategically managing them in a manner that will make it possible to work together collaboratively with local government officials and citizens of the City of Chicago. The movement will create employment, education, and cultural arts opportunities for youth and ex-offenders in impoverished and crime infested communities that did not exist before. This will be achieved by providing Entrepreneurial Training, Educational Programs, and Job Placement Services in the media and fine arts categories such as radio, television, performing arts, fine arts, theatre, music, and career fields where African Americans are grossly underrepresented, such as in the Aviation field .

Description

The Unity Movement of Chicago will live up its name by fostering an atmosphere of Unity within the city amongst entities which are already in place with a common goal of improving and enriching the lives of every citizen. This movement will serve as a catalyst for the collaborative spirit of cooperation in order to bring about peace, justice, and moral character.
