Mission Statement

Since coming to the area, SAA/Baltimore has donated more than $2.3 million to the Swim Across America Lab at the Sidney Kimmel Cancer Center at Johns Hopkins. With the money raised, The Lab has received worldwide attention for its work including the discovery of a genetic biomarker for immunotherapy response that may accurately predict who will respond to certain immunotherapy drugs known as PD-1 inhibitors and the development of a genomic-based test for ovarian and endometrial cancers, using fluid collected from routine pap tests.

SWIM ACROSS AMERICA MISSION

We make waves by hosting benefit swims for our cancer research partners who are developing new cures and treatments to defeat cancer.

WHY SWIM ACROSS AMERICA EXISTS

Swim Across America fills a void by providing vital seed funding to world-renowned hospitals that are investigating and conducting new clinical trials that lead to treatments and cures to defeat cancer. We host benefit swims as an opportunity to raise much needed money for our hospital partners conducting lifesaving research and clinical trials
