Description

Not for profit breed-specific rescue organization - Great Pyrenees dogs. Small volunteer based organization with kennels located on over 30 beautiful acres in Battelfield Park (Varina, VA area). We achieve our mission by:
* Retrieving Pyrs from shelters/other sources so they may live to see another day.
* Accepting Pyrs from owners who cannot properly care for them.
* Accepting Pyrs who are failed livestock guardian dogs.
* Evaluating all Pyrs brought to our rescue in order to determine and provide necessary vet care.
* Placing only neutered/spayed Pyrs by having the necessary surgical procedures performed before placement.
* Providing education to prospective adopters about the rescue program, the breed and the requirements for taking care of Pyrs.
* Thoroughly screening applicants in an effort to find responsible, stable, safe, loving new homes for all rescued Pyrs.
* Providing a safe, healthy and loving environment to the rescued Pyrs until they can be rehomed.
* Providing socialization and training to increase the chances of successful placement.
* Providing post-adoption support for all Pyr owners.
