Mission Statement

The DE ANGELIS VOCAL ENSEMBLE is a non-profit choral arts organization founded in 2005 that illuminates, educates, and entertains the people of Southern California and beyond by performing the highest quality of choral music, furthering diverse musical traditions, seeking new ideas and methods of performance presentation, and contributing to a culturally vibrant society that understands and appreciates the importance of the choral arts in our communities.

Description

De Angelis Vocal Ensemble is a choral arts organization comprised of 30-40 singers (depending on the specific concert) who perform four choral concerts per year, often a capella or with period musical instruments. The 2016-17 season includes music by Palestrina, Herbert, music from the via crucis (Way of the Cross) performed at Christ Cathedral, and a concert titled "Flights of Fancy" that features music related to flight. De Angelis has also developed an eductional outriach program with teachers, students, parents, and administrators of the Newport Mesa School District in conjunction with its own Mission Music Programs. This innovative program blends music from Alta California with the fourth grade social studies curriculum.
