Mission Statement
Bluegrass Search and Rescue Inc., an affiliate team with the Georgetown/Scott County Emergency Management Agency and Office of Homeland Security, is a non-profit, 501C3, volunteer organization established in 1983. Our mission is to provide dedicated, trained, professional personnel for the purpose of responding to search, rescue/recovery request for individuals in urban and wilderness areas and to assist the community, emergency management agencies, and/or law enforcement with these missions. Bluegrass search and Rescue Inc. is also available to assist with other tactical rescues that include, but are not limited to, cave, swift water, or high angle rescue in which some or all of our members are qualified and/or trained.
Description
BGSAR serves the citizens of the Commonwealth, and other States as requested. Members are on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Typically, we are called to provide man-power and K-9 specialists for urban and wilderness search/recovery request and/or drownings. Additionally, our squad will provide support and assistance for the following tactical rescues that include, but are not limited to, high angle, swiftwater and cave rescues.
