Mission Statement

Our mission is to provide grieving children and teens with the tools and resources to help them manage their grief in a healthy way and to offer companionship in a healthy environment. We want each child who attends our camp to leave with a sense of hope, that they are not alone in their grief, and hope that they will continue to seek help in their journey towards healing. Since loss knows no bounds, our camps are provided free of charge to all campers.

Description

Each of the campers, ages 7-12, and 13-18, who have lost a parent, primary caregiver or sibling, will be paired with an adult Big Buddy throughout the weekend. Each Big Buddy volunteer is required to attend a volunteer training session the month prior to camp. Camp is filled with sessions tailored toward the grieving child and many fun activities as well as traditional camp activities.

It was a fantastic weekend, for volunteers and campers!! Most volunteers have expressed enthusiasm about returning next year. What a wonderful, healing weekend for everyone.
