Mission Statement

The mission of the Waterford Family Literacy Program is to improve the literacy abilities of disadvantaged families by providing access to computers and educational software in three urban Salt Lake communities.

Description

The Waterford Early Reading Program is an advanced computer-based reading program that each participant uses for 15-30 min. per session. Furthermore, participants engage in learning activities to make connections between what they learn online and in real life contexts. Adult classes are scheduled separately from children's classes. There is also an early learning component of the program, targeting children 18 mos.-3yrs.
