Mission Statement

The mission of Somerset Community Clinic is to provide quality health care to the uninsured residents of Somerset County, who are over the age of 18, in a setting where all individuals are treated with dignity and respect. The intention of clinic is to help those who are making a sincere effort to help themselves and their families, but who do not have the financial resources for medical care.

Description

In July 2006, the Somerset Community Clinic opened as a non-profit organization, with plans to provide our county's uninsured, working poor residents with free basic medical care and prescription drugs. Now, over two years later the Clinic has truly helped save a number of lives by diagnosing and facilitating treatment for a number of acute medical conditions to members of our community. We have provided over 1300 medical visits and currently have an active caseload of more than 350 patients; including individuals with chronic diseases such as diabetes who did not otherwise have a way to obtain consistent, quality healthcare. The Somerset Community Clinic is open every Tuesday evening and has a 100% volunteer staff, of local physicians, nurses, pharmacists and other personnel. The volunteer staff ensures that every dollar donated goes directly to the cost of running the Clinic. In addition, the Clinic has the strong support of Somerset Hospital, which has generously donated its laboratory and diagnostic services to our patients.
