Mission Statement

Haitian Education Project, Inc. (HEP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that seeks to increase educational opportunities, thereby raising the economic and social status of the Haitian people. Our mission is to help others develop the values of competence, leadership, and excellence while promoting Haitian cultural awareness and creating a better living environment for all Haitians.

Description

The Haitian Education Project (HEP), Inc., is the dream of a Haitian Saint Leo University graduate who always wanted to make a difference in his community. Through his hard work and inspiration, Saint Leo students, professors and administration joined forces with him to create the HEP organization.

We are a Florida based not-for-profit corporation incorporated in 2003 to help create educational and economic development for the Haitian people. We believe that empowering people to become self-sufficient is the key to reduce poverty and achieve community development.

We support the children of Haiti by providing them with school supplies, computers, and other necessary materials. We are also working on establishing a network of libraries in Haiti to give to local communities access to books, Internet, and other necessary resources. Our long term goal is to work with local communities to help set up community centers that will serve as catalysts to social and economic development.
