Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
Homeward Pikes Peak believes people can recover. Every day we house and counsel people struggling with homelessness and addiction because they often have no other options in Colorado Springs. We have a variety of housing programs for the homeless - one sober living, one for mentally ill adults and one for disabled veterans. Of the 1,171 homeless in Colorado Springs, 228 had a chronic substance abuse issues and 236 had a serious mental illness. We can only serve 84 people/families at a given time. We also operate an outpatient substance abuse clinic specializing in women’s services including pregnant women. We help people regardless of their ability to pay. This creates a gap in funding and where we can use your help. We also save taxpayers over $2 million per year just in our housing programs by reducing ER visits, 911 calls, detox stays, and psychiatric hospitalizations. We create self-sufficiency, sober parents, effective employees and dignity.
We have 4 differnt services under our umbrella name, The Harbor House Clinic serves women who are struggleing to stay sober and/or keep or get their kids back. They help with woment who are pregnant and addicted to drugs and have many out patient clinics for men and women. Harbor House is a sober living facility, Housing First helps chronically homeless folks that also have mental disabilities as well as substance abuse, this program is permenent supportive housing. Last but not least we just aquired a Veteran housing program as well as Rapid rehousing program.
