Description

Transitions is a non-profit in Spokane Washington. The organization helps women in crisis, at risk children, low income families, homeless women, and those recovering from addiction. We offer housing, a stable environment, education, counseling and childcare. Transitions is comprised of four unique sites.
The Women's Hearth is a vibrant day center. The Hearth offers free classes, support groups and a state of the art computer lab. Any woman who comes through the Hearth's doors can make use of the services.
Miryam's House is a residential program for up to ten women. With the aid of service staff the residents develop and follow an intense self improvement program. This program encourages self-sufficiency in a supportive community environment.
Transitional Living Center (TLC) is a residential program for homeless women and children. Families in TLC live in an individual 1, 2 or 3 bedroom apartment. The residents of TLC participate in one-on-one parenting classes.
On the same property is EduCare a therapeutic childcare for the residents of TLC and the community at large. EduCare provides infant and school aged children with two USDA meals and specialized child care. EduCare also offers a Medicaid Treatment Child Care program.
