Here's a sample of our volunteer opportunities:VIEW AS
World Heritage International Student Exchange ("World Heritage") is an exchange program which offers qualified students from Mexico, Denmark, Brazil, Spain, Italy, Portugal, France, Germany, Switzerland, great Britain, Japan, Korea, Thailand, China, Canada, and the U.S.A. the opportunity to spend a high school year or summer abroad with a host family in one of these countries. World Heritage is also participating in the FLEX (Future Leaders Exchange) Program which brings high school age students from Eurasia (Newly Independent States of the former Soviet Union) to the U.S.A. for an academic year and the Partner for Learning Youth Exchange and Study (YES) Program which brings high school age students from predominantly Muslim-populated countries to the U.S.A. for an academic year.
World Heritage is a public benefit organization dedicated to fostering cultural enrichment and intercultural understanding through youth exchange programs. World Heritage is officially designed as an "exchange visitor" program by the United States Department of State and adheres strictly to all its regulations
World Heritage is seeking families, couples or single parents (with or without children at home) who are adventurous, fun-loving, responsible, and most of all caring, who are interested in hosting a high-school-aged foreign exchange student for 2009-2010 school year. Families need only provide a bed and meals, students come with their own spending money and insurance. By hosting a student from another country, your entire family will discover a world of fun and an enlightening adventure. Students who spend a semester or school year in the US are fulfilling a lifetime dream. American culture plays an important role all over the world; the English language is the international language of our times. Share your home for a year; enjoy a friendship for a lifetime.
What is a Welcome Family?
Have you thought about becoming a host family, but may be unsure of making the commitment for a full 10 months?
Why not become a World Heritage Welcome Family
* A Welcome Family hosts the student upon arrival for up to 6-8 weeks
* A Welcome Family can choose to keep the student for the whole year if they really like the student
* The World Heritage Student is told they have will be going to a temporary family until a permanent family is found in their school district or surrounding communities
* Welcome Families can choose their student just like permanent families
