Mission Statement
Our mission is 'Helping Heal the Hurt of Hunger' in our eleven-county service area.
Description
We are a non-profit central clearinghouse for food supplies for those in need. We solicit, collect, and store salvaged and surplus foods. The food is distributed to our non-profit partner agencies like food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens, which then provide meals or emergency food to our neighbors in need.
Our member agency network of 100+ food pantries, shelters, and soup kitchens spreads across nearly 10,000 square miles and eleven counties; Calhoun, Colorado, DeWitt, Gonzales, Jackson, Lavaca, Matagorda, Refugio, Victoria and Wharton counties.
The Food Bank of the Golden Crescent was established in 1986 and is a member of the Texas Food Bank Network and Feeding America, the nations's largest network of food banks.
