Description
The Airline History Museum began in 1986 when two aviation enthusiasts decided to go looking for a Lockheed Constellation to restore and fly to airshows. Undaunted by the obstacles, they were joined by other aviation enthusiasts including a large number of (then) employees and retired employees from Kansas City's hometown airline, TWA. Since that time the organization has grown to have 2 restored, 1 in restoration airliners, another on the way and a good sized museum. We host two vintage style Hangar Dances a year and have become a very popular venue for private and public functions. Located at the Downtown Wheeler Airport, we have the most dramatic view of downtown Kansas City, Missouri. As we have become more and more known our need for volunteers has also grown, so we welcome anyone interested (aviation background or not, member or not) to come join the fun as a volunteer at our museum!
