Friends of Brooks Foundation

Description

The Friends of Brooks Foundation was founded by Allison and Owen Brolsma to honor their late son, Brooks Brolsma, and also in appreciation of friends, family, and local businesses who turned out in support during their time of need. Through a golf tournament in October of 2012, they were able to raise over $35,000 to support the family's travel needs, medical costs, and the costs of maintaining a household while having to live out of the area for over three months. Out of this generosity, a realization of the need for this type of financial support for our local families was born.

We have had an annual golf tournament since then, with the proceeds benefitting Northern Nevada families facing similar challenges. We provide support by providing short-term funds to these familes and have also partnered with them to raise funds within their networks through various efforts.
